YAR ’25

Проект ландшафтного благоустройства в Ярославской области
Январь 2025
The landscape design project for the “Yar ’25” garden is located in the Yaroslavl region. The plot area is 40 acres.

The terrain has a pronounced elevation difference. The slope determines the character of the area and dictates the conditions for the spatial composition of the garden. The climate zone is temperate continental — with snowy winters and warm, humid summers. The initial data for the future garden required a careful approach to the selection of plants, as well as to structural and engineering solutions, and these were successfully addressed at all stages of the design process.

The large two‑storey house made of brown brick is located at the highest points of the terrain. During the design of the garden, changes were made to the layout of the main entrance to the house, including to more effectively bridge the height difference from the paving level to the finished floor level inside the house. The main pedestrian transit route between the gate and the main entrance to the house is surrounded by forest compositions of Cossack juniper and mountain pines combined with perennial herbaceous plants. The delicate crowns of the hawthorn create a cozy atmosphere and cast an ornamental shadow on the natural stone paving stones.

The main house has three entrances/exits in total. One of them is a small terrace for morning coffee is a wish of the garden owner. From this terrace, you can see the main area of the plot. A terraced descent leads to the building of the bath complex across the emerald lawn at the lower points of the terrain.

One of the most attractive relaxation areas in the garden is the fire pit zone on the main terrace of the main house. The garden owner accesses the terrace from the main living room of the house. The main area with the fire pit and sofa group is located away from the facade and situated lower down the slope so as not to block the impressive view from the panoramic windows of the living room onto the course of the forest river.

The fire pit is made of cast iron. Its massive, solid form and carved, lacy ornamentation catch the eye and become an element of art. The pit serves as a symbol of unity and a place for cozy family evenings, warming all participants with the heat from the bright flames.

The garden has become a place where all family members can find a comfortable space for communication, relaxation, and contact with nature. A children’s playground was organized for the younger generation of the garden owner’s family. The soft, comfortable swings will be a place for the older generation to spend time with the younger ones and will also allow for visual monitoring of the safety of children’s active play in the apple orchard.
